Rokstra gives students a music camp experience they’ll never forget

In our Music Camps, students pick up instruments and start playing as a band, ultimately ending the music camp by performing a live show for their friends and families.

Campers have the opportunity to record one song during each week of camp at a professional recording studio, and each week of camp includes attending a live rock and roll concert at a major performance venue.

Rokstra’s Summer Music camps offer students a way to learn how to play songs and perform them live on stage.
Kids are placed in bands, have rehearsals and learn more about being true musicians.


Week One (July 17-21) -ENROLLMENT PAUSED

Classic Rock Camp

In this 5-day camp, come learn the music of 60s and 70s rock icons such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones in our Classic Rock summer camp.

In addition to songs, students will learn about rock history and the stagecraft needed to perform on a stage.

At the end of the week, students will put on a live performance. Great for students 7-18 years of age who have had previous instruction (experience in improvisation is not required).

Week Two (July 24-28) – ENROLLMENT PAUSED

Pop Rock Camp

In this 5-day camp, come learn the music of current pop artists such as The Weeknd, Taylor Swift, and Ed Sheeran during our Pop Rock summer camp.

In addition to songs, students will learn about pop and rock history and the stagecraft needed to perform on a stage. At the end of the week, students will put on a live performance.

Great for students 7-18 years of age who have had previous instruction (experience in improvisation is not required)

Just Added (June 19-23) – ENROLLMENT OVER

Rock and Roll Camp

In this 5-half day camp, learn to be a Rockstar! Rock and and Roll Camp combines rock performance technique, rock and roll history, and a rock performance to end the week.

Learn music from classic rock artists such as the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, and Aerosmith. 

Great for elementary aged children. No musical experience required. Please note, the hours for this camp are 9-12 only, and follows a different schedule than below. 

What to expect

Come ready to rock from 9a-3p, Monday to Friday. Please pack a lunch for camp days. Review our daily* schedule below:

9-9.30: Classical Technique

12.30-1.30 EXTREME Rock and Roll Game of the Day

*Please note that on Friday, part of the camp day will take place at Studio 1116, followed by an evening performance. 

End of week performance

All campers will participate in an end of week performance on Friday during which they will perform for family and friends at a local performance venue. Location may vary from week to week. Approximate performance time will be 6pm. Full details to be released after registration. 

Atttending a live concert

Campers will attend an evening rock and roll performance each week at a major concert venue. Tickets will be available for purchase directly from Rokstra. We will request chaperones as needed. Full details to be released after registration.

Cancellation policy

The health and safety of our students is our top priority. If Rokstra needs to cancel a camp for any reason, a full refund or credit will be issued. If you need to cancel a camp for any reason, a full refund or credit will be issued for camps canceled up to 15 days prior to the camp start date.

Skill and Experience

Summer rock camp is open and available to all string players ages 7-18. Campers will be divided into groups based on skill level. Beginners should be able to read sheet music, and be comfortable playing at the level of Suzuki Book 1.

Intermediate/Advanced campers should be comfortable playing at the level of Suzuki Book 3, understand 3rd position shifting and vibrato. While auditions are not required, all int/adv campers must submit a playing sample after registration and prior to camp starts so we can arrange groups by skill level.
